Everyone deserves a little selfish time, especially you. That's
the conclusion psychologist Jenni Trent Hughes came to when she
discovered the average British woman spends 21 years of her life
looking after others, and only three on herself.
While women are commended for their multi-tasking abilities, all
that running around can get us worked up - and that's where
Vesuvius Syndrome kicks in. Once the tiredness and stress builds up
we often take it out on those we're closest to - the Vesuvius
eruption.
Jenni thinks the best way to avoid such outbursts is to look
after yourself by taking a little bit of selfish time to do
something you enjoy, make yourself feel happy and put everything
back into perspective. After all, when you feel happy you make
others feel happy.
